    Heroes Challenge

    One day. Ten teams. Countless wishes.

    On Friday, May 9, Southcentre Mall is joining forces with Make-A-Wish® Canada for the Heroes Challenge—a high-energy, community-powered fundraiser where ten local teams take on a series of fun, themed challenges throughout the mall. Each team is paired with a Wish Kid captain and tasked with raising $10,000—the average cost of granting one life-changing wish.

    The goal? Raise $100,000 in one unforgettable day and bring the joy of a wish to more children facing critical illnesses in our community.

    📌 Location: Centre Court, Southcentre Mall
    🎉 Free to attend! The public is welcome to come watch, cheer, and support.
    Best entrance: South doors between Sport Chek and Crate & Barrel

    The Hero Challenges

    Each team will rotate through five Hero Stores, where a mix of creative, active, and fun challenges await. Some stops pack a double punch — so bring your A-game!

    🎳 PowerPlay
    HyperBowling – A colourful, interactive take on bowling where precision and strategy collide.

    🎨 Motive Art Academy
    Flag Decorating – Design a team flag that reflects your spirit and teamwork.
    Puzzle Challenge – Complete an artistic brain-teaser under pressure.

    🎾 Sporting Life
    Tennis Relay – Serve up some energy and keep the rally going in this fast-paced relay.

    🤠 Alberta Boot
    Shirt Folding Showdown – Master the art of folding with a retail-style board.
    Hat Matching – Match iconic Alberta Boot cowboy hats — accuracy counts!

    🛍️ Unique Bunny
    Spot the Difference – Detect tiny differences in product packaging photos.
    Price is Right – K-Beauty Edition – Guess the price of beauty products… and be quick about it!

    Heroes' Lunch

    After the action wraps, all participants will enjoy a well-deserved lunch in the food court — generously provided by A&W, New York Fries and Kabob Land.

    Plus, every hero goes home with a special gift from Mountain Warehouse as a token of appreciation for being part of the challenge.

    Fuel up, celebrate your efforts, and enjoy a moment of connection with your team and Wish Families!

    Schedule

    • 10:00 AM – Team check-in + cape display in Centre Court

    • 10:30 AM – Group warm-up

    • 10:45 AM – Team intros + challenge brief

    • 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM – Challenges begin!

    • 1:00 PM – Awards ceremony

    • 1:30 PM – Team lunch in the food court with NYF, A&W and Kabob Land
