Our Community Commitment
At Southcentre, making the everyday memorable is at the heart of everything we do. In 2024, as we proudly celebrated our 50th anniversary, we wove the spirit of celebration into every moment, creating meaningful experiences that brought our community closer together.
From meaningful activations to heartfelt partnerships, we worked with 30+ community organizations, raised over $1.7 million dollars, and contributed 17,000 volunteer hours to support causes that make our community thrive. While our August 7th birthday celebration was a standout moment, it was just one highlight of a year filled with opportunities to reflect on our history, celebrate our present, and build a brighter future.
As we look back on an unforgettable 2024, we’re incredibly grateful to everyone who joined us in making this milestone so special. And as we step into 2025, we’re excited to share everything we’ll achieve together in the year ahead.
Land Acknowledgement
In the spirit of reconciliation, we acknowledge that we live, work, and play on the traditional territories of the Blackfoot Confederacy (Siksika, Kainai, Piikani), the Tsuut’ina, the Îyâxe Nakoda Nations, the Métis Nation (Region 3), and all people who make their homes in the Treaty 7 region of Southern Alberta.
We give thanks to Indigenous Peoples as the traditional and current caretakers of this land and thank them for their care and stewardship of these lands and waters that have shaped this place since time immemorial. We recognize our responsibilities as Treaty people to engage in the meaningful, continuous process of truth and reconciliation with all our relations.
Southcentre Mall and Oxford Properties, though we are very early in our journey of reconciliation, are committed to a shared future where we listen to, learn from, and build genuine partnerships with Indigenous peoples and communities.
