In accordance with the City of Calgary’s Mandatory Face Covering Bylaw, all guests are required to wear a mask or face covering that covers both mouth and nose, in all indoor areas at Southcentre Mall.

In accordance with the Government of Alberta’s updated health measures, the following measures are in effect at Southcentre:

  • Capacity restricted to 1/3 fire code occupancy.
  • Visitors must be with household members only, or 2 close contacts if they live alone.
  • Masking and physical distancing continue to be required, except for children age two and under.
  • The Restriction Exemption Program will be in effect at participating dine-in restaurants and the Southcentre Food Court. For more information, click here.

Effective September 25th, the Restriction Exemption Program will be in effect at the Southcentre Food Court. To enter, people ages 12 and older must present valid photo identification that matches valid paper or digital vaccine record, or proof of negative test or medical exemption, all as detailed below:

PROOF OF VACCINATION

  • A valid photo identification that matches the vaccine record (only required for adults 18 and over).
  • Valid paper or digital vaccine record that shows name, vaccine type, and date of administration.
  • From September 20 to October 25: proof of partial vaccination (one dose) is considered acceptable as long as the dose was given more than 2 weeks before the time of service.
  • After October 25: proof of full vaccination (two doses) is required.

PROOF OF NEGATIVE TEST

  • Tests must be privately paid, Health Canada approved rapid antigen, rapid PCR, or lab-based PCR test completed within the previous 72 hours.
  • Valid test results should be a written or printed copy that clearly outlines the type of test, time of sample collection, a clear indication of a negative result, and laboratory that completed the test, if applicable.
  • Photos of a rapid test result taken offsite are not sufficient.
  • Do not bring completed self-tests or rapid tests to businesses due to communicable disease risk.
  • Tests must not be from Alberta Health Services or Alberta Precision Laboratories.

PROOF OF MEDICAL EXEMPTION

  • A valid medical exemption is the original signed letter from a physician or nurse practitioner that includes:
    • Person’s name that matches their identification.
    • Physician’s or nurse practitioner’s complete information, including:
      • Name, phone number, contact information, professional registration number, and signatures.
      • A statement that there is a medical reason for not being fully vaccinated against COVID-19.
      • The duration that the exemption is valid.

What We’re Doing To Keep You Safe:

We're also taking additional measures to keep you safe:

  • Increased our cleaning frequency in high-touch and high-traffic areas using best practices and products identified by health organizations
  • Installed signage to reinforce physical distancing, guide customer traffic flow and hygiene
  • Placed hand sanitizer stations throughout the shopping centre
  • Limited capacity in the shopping centre, all elevators and washrooms
  • Some seating has been removed and clearly marked as out-of-use to maintain physical distance
